In his role, Mr. D’Onofrio leads a team of over 350 food service professionals, providing all aspects of food and beverage service including catering, café, bar operations and concessions at the United States Military Academy.
Mr. D’Onofrio is a highly qualified professional, having worked in the industry for over 38 years, 28 years in his current position as Director of Food Service. In 1987, Mr. D’Onofrio took over an operation that was losing money each year. By implementing many creative changes and improvements, he turned the business around. Gross sales have increased from one million to over seven million dollars. Mr. D’Onofrio attributes his success to his high standards of professionalism, strong work ethic, attention to detail and genuine care about his work and employees.
Mr. D’Onofrio’s high level of commitment to excellence recently earned him the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) College Foodservice Excellence Award for 2012. Recently he was honored as a 2014 Silver Plate Award Winner.
Passionate about his job and is possibilities, Mr. D’Onofrio continues to look for ways to improve customer service and increase revenue at the DCA Culinary Group.
